Linux Infrastructure – The foundation of modern and economical IT infrastructures

For many years, I have been working with Linux as the core operating system for servers, container, and cloud environments. In my projects, Linux stands for stability, security, scalability, and independence from proprietary platforms (see Linux Foundation, Open Source Initiative).

I plan, install, and operate Linux-based systems for a wide variety of use cases—from classic servers and virtualization clusters to cloud and Kubernetes environments. I combine practical administration, infrastructure-as-code automation, and the targeted use of different distributions to tailor solutions precisely to customer requirements.

A particular advantage of open-source technologies is their cost and license transparency: Using Linux, Proxmox, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB can significantly reduce ongoing license and maintenance costs without compromising stability, security, or support. This results in predictable, long-term cost-efficient IT structures that remain independent of individual manufacturers.

Administration

Various systems connected via a cloud – symbolizing Linux distributions in heterogeneous infrastructures.

Stable Linux servers from single hosts to clusters—hardened, monitored, and documented. Clear runbooks, backups, and monitoring make operations predictable.

Automation

Infrastructure-as-code with Ansible, Git, and CI/CD: repeatable deployments, less manual work, transparent changes—including secrets and policy management.

Distributions

The right distribution for your use case: Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL/Alma/Rocky, SLES. Lifecycle, patch, and support concept from a single source.

Services

I support companies in setting up, modernizing, and securing their IT infrastructure—based on Linux, Kubernetes, virtualization, and open-source technologies.
My focus is on practical, transparent, and low-maintenance solutions that reduce costs and enable long-term independence.
Whether server administration, container platform, or database migration: I deliver complete concepts, implement them technically, and document them so that internal teams can continue working seamlessly.

Linux Infrastructure

Planning, installation, and operation of Linux server environments—from single hosts to highly available clusters.

Goal: Maximum stability, security, and transparency in your IT infrastructure.

Automation & DevOps

Implementation of infrastructure as code using Ansible, Bash scripting, Python, and GitOps principles.

Goal: Reproducible deployments, less manual work, clear processes.

Virtualization & Containers

Setup and management of Proxmox clusters (KVM/LXC), Docker containers, and Kubernetes environments for development and production systems.

Goal: Flexible, scalable platforms without license dependencies.

Databases & Migrations

Operation and optimization of PostgreSQL and MariaDB systems, including migration of Oracle databases to open-source solutions.

Goal: Performance, stability, and cost control with full SQL compatibility.
